A Kentucky father gave a heartbreaking interview on Wednesday morning to express how he and his wife are grieving for their two-month-old daughter, Iena Chapman, who was among those killed in a deadly tornado in neighboring Ohio.

“Our daughter was doing what she loved to do, and that was to play, and have fun. It wasn’t a significant amount of time that she was with us, but it wasn’t long enough to be devastated or overwhelmed by it,” said Josh Chapman, whose daughter Iena was one of the victims of Monday’s Ohio tornado.

And Matt Chapman, the two-month-old’s father, released the names of nine more of his daughter’s close friends that were killed in Monday’s deadly storm in nearby Indiana.

The couple says their daughter was one of 30 people who died when three tornadoes tore through the small community of Van Wert, Ohio, and nearby towns.

“I think it’s really tough for us to even talk about,” Chapman said. “It’s hard to even cry, and it’s hard to find the right words.”

“She was just a little angel, and we don’t even know exactly how she was laid up and who had her,” he added.

Chapman says that he and his wife want to rebuild their daughter’s community so that it is even stronger than it was before, but are unsure if they will be able to.

“This is the first thing we’ve ever done, and I know I don’t have as much life experience as I should have had, but this is something that we’re definitely going to have to figure out quickly,” Chapman said.
