Fox News’ Hannity went on a revenge press junket at the San Francisco airport

The hard-right Fox News personality Sean Hannity didn’t just trash California senator Kamala Harris on national television, he went on a revenge press junket at the San Francisco airport. And this time, the result was worse than ever.

Harris, a California Democrat who became the first African American to win a statewide office in California when she was elected to the US Senate last year, had previously been the subject of a series of unsubstantiated accusations that she lied about her education, law enforcement and military records.

One allegation said she embellished her educational record by falsely claiming to have attended both Harvard Law School and Stanford, both of which denied her that distinction. She denies it.

Hannity embarked on a media tour to discredit Harris, calling her “the worst thing that could happen to California Democrats” and claiming she had a “secret file of lies”.

After one guest declined to respond to a question about her qualifications on Fox News, Hannity said: “Tell me where that secret file is? Tell me where she slept for the last month? Is she sleeping at the Miramonte school? Wherever the hell she’s at.”

Then, on Hannity’s “Hannity” show, he told his audience that Harris should “halt all federal funds” to California, and kept lecturing the senator at length. Hannity has been harshly critical of civil rights attorneys who have represented clients accused of crimes.

It’s unclear whether Harris, who has been in the news the past week in connection with the arrest of gang member Leslie Jones on a weapons charge, attended an airport to see the show. Representatives for Harris did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Fox News released this statement after the incident: “We are looking into the matter.”
