Travis Scott says he’s never ridden the Insane Roller Coaster, in light of Gucci Mane’s injuries

Travis Scott, the rap star responsible for pushing Sunday’s premiere of the Glendale “ride of the century” for his pal, rapper Gucci Mane, told DJ Charlamagne tha God that he had no idea that Gucci Mane was injured as a result of riding the insane roller coaster at the 2017 Astroworld amusement park in southern Oklahoma City.“I never rode one of them,” Scott told the radio host about the park, adding, “I heard about it, but I didn’t ever ride it.”

Video footage from the ride, which Gucci Mane went to see before the premiere of his new Netflix show, Almost Famous, has emerged on the internet, showing the rapper riding the roller coaster and then falling off. Though Gucci Mane and his entourage appeared to have been drinking heavily during the tour, it’s unclear why he was so drunk to the point that he could not handle the ride safely, especially since Scott apparently never rode it himself. Scott also acknowledged, in a recorded interview with ABC News at the Broadway musical Mean Girls afterparty, that Gucci Mane may have been drinking. “So, yeah, a lot of celebrating,” Scott told ABC News.

Makes sense. Never go to a frat party with Gucci Mane. Watch footage of last night’s episode of Almost Famous on @netflix ???? https://t.co/qyVfqAOt5X — Travis Scott (@trvisXX) May 24, 2018

Following the video of Gucci Mane falling off the ride, Scott, who recently married model Kylie Jenner, deleted a series of tweets which made light of Gucci Mane’s fall. “@GucciMane ?? this is what we call a good joke,” Scott tweeted. “We swear Gucci Mane walked away because he LOVED it mane. he never said ‘I’m going to be too drunk to walk,’” he added, noting, “he tried his best.”

Don’t get me wrong. If @GucciMane was dead, I would think I “tried my best”?? — Travis Scott (@trvisXX) May 25, 2018

See the full episode of Charlamagne tha God’s talk show, which will also include Scott at the end, on Monday on MTV2.
